Answer

Gene Wilder agreed to play Willy Wonka on one condition: that he be allowed to fake a limp and do a sommersault in his first scene. Gene Wilder explained he wanted this so from then on nobody would know if he was lying or telling the truth.

Gene Wilder agreed to play Willy Wonka on what condition?

Demo Kits

Soundskrit demo kits are designed so that you can hear the difference our microphones can make in your products. Our demo kits implement a variety of our recommended microphone configurations to pair with our software, Soundskrit Demo Kit Interface, and allow you to evaluate the performance for yourself. If you are looking for something more specific to your product, we work alongside many of our customers to build proof-of-concept devices, tell us more about your project and we can work alongside you to develop an industry-leading audio solution.

Mantis Boom Headset Demo Kit

The Soundskrit Mantis kit is designed to evaluate the performance of Soundskrit microphones and software in a headset scenario. Our typical headset recommendation is to combine an omnidirectional and dipole microphone to enable several software features. This pair is present in three positions, one near the mouth as in a traditional boom headset, one further back for a reduced boom length, and one near the ear as found in boomless wireless headphones.

Soundskrit provides a variety of audio processing algorithms for the Mantis kit, categorized by boom location, with each boom location corresponding to a specific algorithm family. These algorithms include linear, adaptive, and nonlinear beamformers, as well as AI-based denoising models, all of which can be configured and evaluated using the Soundskrit Demo Kit Interface software, either with or without a connected Mantis demo kit. Developed specifically for demo kit evaluation, Soundskrit Demo Kit Interface platform enables customers to quickly test and compare different algorithms on the demo kit within seconds.

Details

  • Easily mounts to an existing headset
  • Three SKR0610 microphones and three omnidirectional microphones
  • Compare beamforming and AI denoising algorithms at three different positions
  • Test the sound quality over a video conference
  • USB-C interface

Scarab Module Demo Kit

The Soundskrit Scarab Kit is an evaluation platform for exploring Soundskrit microphones with beamforming algorithms. It includes an SKM16X0 or SKR0710 + Omni microphone module, an adapter board, and the PARDI USB interface. The accompanying Soundskrit Demo Kit Interface software demonstrates beamforming algorithms and polar patterns to enhance directionality, improve desired sound capture, and reduce background noise.

Details

  • Includes the SKM16X0 or SKR0710+Omni module which includes the powerful pairing of an SKR06X0 or SKR0710 dipole microphone and an omnidirectional microphone
  • Multipe different beamforming algorithms - Linear beams like Cardioid, Adaptive and Nonlinear noise reduction
  • USB-C interface

Cricket Demo Kit

The Cricket kit is an easy-to-use smart glasses evaluation kit designed to demonstrate Soundskrit’s ability to isolate a user's voice and a speaker in front of the user. Embedded in the GUI is an offline transcription mode to separate the voice of the user and person in front, and transcribe what is being said.

  • Optional AI noise reduction
  • Small form factor using 3 MEMS microphones (2 dipoles and one omnidirectional) on a single arm of the glasses
  • USB-C interface

Butterfly Kit

The Butterfly kit is an easy-to-use evaluation kit designed to demonstrate Soundskrit’s Direction-of-Arrival (DOA) algorithm in a <3.5mm total thickness. It includes the Butterfly PCB, which has three orthogonal Soundskrit dipole microphones and an omnidirectional microphone, connected to Soundskrit’s custom audio interface, and a Windows-based GUI.

Details

  • Detection of arrival (DOA) of incoming sound and automatic steering of cardioid beam in this direction
  • Manual steering mode to any direction in a horizontal plane
  • Immersive stereo mode
  • Compact microphone model built in a microphone shell for protection
  • Easy to use Windows GUI
  • USB-C interface

Dragonfly Shotgun Demo Kit

The Dragonfly kit is a tool to evaluate how very narrow beam patterns can be achieved using Soundskrit microphones. The kit includes our Dragonfly board, which is a PCB with three SKM1600 modules. Each SKM1600 holds a dipole and an omnidirectional MEMS microphone. The Dragonfly is connected to our SPIDAR board, which is a convenient interface to connect MEMS microphones over USB. The SPIDAR board runs an embedded linear beamforming algorithm using the Dragonfly board to demonstrate how linear array beamforming can be used to enhance directionality and reduce background noise.
